Vapor Steam Cleaning FAQ's
Q. What is vapor steam cleaning? What is the difference between a steam cleaner, a vapor steam cleaner, and vapor steam cleaning system? A. These are all terms used to describe the process which produces steam vapor by heating water to high temperatures in a sealed boiler, producing pressurized, high temperature dry vapor steam for effective cleaning. The word "system" usually indicates usage versatility, extending beyond just floor cleaning. You can find out more information regarding vapor steam cleaning here.
Q. I have noticed a variety of specifications, options and prices for vapor steam cleaners. How do I determine the best value when considering purchasing a steam cleaner? A. Steam cleaners range in price, depending on the quality of components, performance and size. High-end, large industrial steam cleaners are designed to produce dry steam at high pressures. They operate on a continual basis, without having to turn the machine off and wait for a cooling down period to refill water. Typically industrial steam cleaners are used for specific commercial applications such as restaurant kitchens or auto mechanic's shops, etc.. When designing the MR-100, Vapamore researched commercial grade systems and assessed features and specifications that should be focused on, in order to produce the highest quality residential grade vapor steam cleaner available. Research concluded that an operation time of 50 +- 10 minutes (depending on the adjustable steam flow rate setting), is ample time for most cleaning tasks. A stainless steel boiler is implemented into the design for durability and corrosion resistance. The MR-100 produces a dry steam and pressure like that of commercial the grade models. Lower-end models typically produce wet steam and lower pressure and a limited operation time. A good residential, or entry commercial steam cleaning system should produce dry steam and allow for adjusting output pressure and a longer operation time between filling. The last, but certainly not the least consideration is safety. Most of the lower-end models have no safety shut off mechanism, and are not ETL or UL approved. This is definitely something to look for. Vapor steam cleaners operate and depend on steam pressure.
Q. I've seen "steam mop" and "H2O mop" commercials on television. Can the MR-100 clean floors like those products do? A. Yes, the MR-100 includes attachments to clean floors. The one key advantage of the MR-100 is that it is a complete cleaning system with multiple attachments, allowing for unlimited uses. New uses are constantly being discovered for the MR-100.
Q. The picture on Vapamore's home page looks like a vacuum cleaner. Does the MR-100 also operate as a vacuum cleaner? A. No, The Vapamore is not a vacuum or carpet extracting machine, but rather a multi-use steam cleaning system allowing for hundreds of uses around the home, garage or office.
Q. Where can I find answers to questions regarding operation, usage or any other support information for the MR-100. A. The Vapamore web site is a key source for information and support for the MR-100.
